Bellydance is known for its beauty, sensuality, grace and FUN! Though its exact origins are unknown, we know that it has been practiced for centuries.

The term "bellydance" refers to a wide range of movements from many different areas of the Middle East. The formal name is Middle Eastern Dance or Dance Oriental. It uses body isolations most notably the hips. Isolations are also used in the head, neck, chest, shoulders and hands. When these beautiful isolations are linked together the undulating snake like movements of this beautiful dance are created.

Today bellydance is taught in almost every country and enjoyed by many around the world. Many pursue it for enjoyment, exercise, recreation and performance.

Belly dancers are known for their enthusiasm.

Many women have found that the dance creates a strong sense of empowerment and has been a means rediscovering self.

About the Studio

It has always been a dream of mine to provide an atmosphere and environment devoted and purposefully designed for the Middle Eastern Belly dancer. Abba! is the fruition of that dream. Built with the loving hands of family and the dancers of our studio it offers a haven for the new and experienced dancer. Students of the studio also have access to a library of materials and media for exploration. We hope you visit soon and experience the warm nurturing spirit that has been created for your bellydance journey.
